NETTE NETTE (f, 4, Empire Maker–Vaulcluse {SW}, by A.P. Indy), a $950,000 Keeneland September graduate, made the trip up from South Florida and splashed home to debut as a much-the-best winner. Away in mid-division as the even-money pick, the a half-sister to Lukes Alley (Flower Alley), Ch. Older Horse-Can, GISW-US, MGSW-Can, $795,122; and to once-beaten 'TDN Rising Star' Arrifana (Curlin), SW & GSP, $230,400, tugged Pablo Morales to the front after the completion of a quarter-mile. Pressed on the turn by Expect To Be Ready (Verrazano), Nette Nette kicked when set down in upper stretch and came away to score by a distance. Second choice Candy Jar (Candy Ride {Arg}) ran on to complete an exacta that paid just under 4-1. The second-priciest of 55 of her late sire's progeny to sell as yearlings in 2019 (67 ring) and the joint highest-priced filly during the opening session at KEESEP, Nette Nette has an unraced 3-year-old full-sister, a 2-year-old War Front filly that fetched $1.2 million at KEESEP last fall and a yearling filly that is a full-sister to Arrifana. The stakes-winning Vaulcluse was bred back to War Front last year. Sales history: $950,000 Ylg '19 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $15,000.
